114 look, a comet!

Walking to the farmer's market. Traffic is about maybe one-quarter the usual. Or maybe I should say the old days. Mask use is over 90%.

The boarded up realtor's office where I first hung art is now fully muralized, and has sprouted an encampment. When I walked by later, a houseless guy who has lived in the neighborhood on and off for his whole life and takes care of one of the neighborhood parks was busy taking photos to report them.

What else? My dream of living car free took a drive in a new truck yesterday.

Yeah, at this point, even I'm getting tired of the scare-tactic headlines. Basically, every headline in the Bay Area should read: thank you, and sorry, but thank you.

So last time I checked, maybe a month ago, this was about three thousand, and forty deaths. It's bad, but really, thank you, great job, sorry about your business, but seriously, thank you. Let's keep up the good work. We promise to make it up to you.

Or not...

Connect the dots. Hmm. Where have I heard that recently?

Fashion, the number one polluting industry after transportation, heat, and animal agriculture, is having a hard time.

Hint: sweat pants and face masks?

And then there was the big news of the day.

A newly spotted comet just swung around the sun, and is currently between the orbits of Venus and Mercury, visible before sunrise.

So of course I set off this morning to see.

Venus, Mars, and Jupiter were all pretty easy to spot.

And I found these amateur astronomers taking a look.

Unfortunately, they informed me I was about an hour late to see the comet.

I did get to see the new illuminated, fancy pink pride triangle. Very nice! Jupiter is also visible in this image, just to the right of the tower.

My step-mother-in-law is doing ok in the ICU, she's hopeful she will be released this weekend. And my father-in-law says his cough is no longer a dry cough, so maybe that's hopeful? My brother-in-law, despite having two sick parents, is, at age seventeen, unable to get tested.

Nothing to see here...
