105 live, laugh, love

And in the biggest news of the day, a woman wearing the ultimate Karen outfit, a black and white striped shirt and capri pants, and her husband, aimed guns at a passing protest March.

Where do we begin to unpack this? Let's start with they are both lawyers, and in the state where they live it is illegal to threaten someone with a weapon.

Then there's the notion of this man's poor gun handling skills. Now, I'm no expert, but in today's millieu of "civil war" and "race war" my guess is in a real gun fight this guy would be a casualty quicker than he could put on slippers.

Finally, there are their corpulent, overstuffed bodies, which are entirely emblematic of America. The man actually looks pretty trim and fit compared to dear leader. Yet, overall, this is not a good look, can we agree?

Also, in general, 2020 is not a good time to make an ass out of yourself in front of a cellphone camera, which is basically anywhere you are.

Because the internet knows no mercy.

So yeah, as angry as you are that you have everything and are willing to kill for it, maybe you just want to continue to let the 5-0 do your dirty work?

Been thinking about this blogging, or journaling, or whatever it is. My life is not a series of reactions to daily news headlines. So why is this blog?

Well, it's convenient. And it helps me hash through the headlines, and wrap my head around life. But eventually, I'm stuck on the same loop as the rest of the media. Coronavirus scary, leadership inadequate, testing needed, wear a mask, cops scary, civil rights needed, and a dollop of singularity just to be slightly different.

But there's more. I know it. How do I get it out?

One clever quip at a time, I guess.

8 years for setting a garbage can on fire, 45 years to life for setting a cop car on fire.

Apparently today's wake and blake is all guns all the time. Not a good trend, IMHO.

Millions sign petition, and a few get tear gassed at a peaceful vigil.

They were highly leveraged, which I guess is to be expected for a flying show. Still, not a great sign for theatre.

This either...

Imelda?

Because he's not hiding his ignorance.

To be fair, nobody saw this coming. (Except maybe the Chinese, Koreans, Mongolians, Japanese, Singaporeans, Germans, etc.)

And finally finally, yesterday morning's walk took me over to famous Haight Street.
I haven't been since the beginning of the pandemic. It was weird to see almost zero street life. Construction crews have been busy, taking advantage of no traffic to repave. Taking these photos in the middle of the street, looking at this wide open, non-disease spreading space, in front of these boarded up and suffering businesses, and I just saw a huge opportunity being ignored. Of all the potential pedestrian plazas in the city, Haight Street is the most obvious. As the photobomber would say, #bancars.
