CLJ88: who wants to eat out(side)?
File under: central planning
Local 02045, a marina restaurant near my mom's house in Hull, MA, has reopened for outdoor dining. As seen in the picture (thanks Mom), they have two decks, plus have grabbed some of the parking area in front of the place for more tables.
Hull has, to the best of my knowledge, been harder hit by coronavirus than my zip code in SF. They have also had a shorter lockdown.
Meanwhile, SF is still figuring out the rules for restaurants with no outdoor space to take over a sidewalk.
Three months into the planning process, and you can finally apply for a permit to be considered to maybe put some tables outside.
Meanwhile, in less than a month, indoor dining is opening again. By which time, you may actually have a permit to start outdoor dining.
On the plus side, it looks like there is some demand.
For limited hours.
Biergarten, meet Dr. Who.
And less customers.

The CHAZ continued blowing up the internet, if not actually blowing up a neighborhood.
