Coronavirus Lockdown Journal Day 77: you know the old saying, "drummed out of office?"

"Brace yourself, this is only getting started," said the older guy at the park, the one who said "I'm beginning to wonder if the cure is worse than the disease" about a week before it became dear leader's catchphrase.

Remember after 9/11, when it was decided all of Islam was to blame for the woes of the world, not Wall Street and the Pentagon, as the terrorists awfully attempted to point out? Yeah, we're at that moment.

Meanwhile, there's still a pandemic going on. Some of the protest pictures and other current events I've seen make that party at Lake Of The Ozarks look like, you know, fun in the sun.

On the lighter side of this, friend the Photobomber did a series of very relevant paintings a few years ago.

Don't really follow late night tv, but this is spot on, and seemingly unscripted.

One for the adrenaline junkies. Time to play armchair UN referee.

Time to put your Singularity goggles on. And maybe be prepared for some astrology. I was reminded by the internet about something I wrote five years ago.

So here we are, 20 years into this new century. Astrologically speaking, we are in an interesting time, a big deal cycle of Uranus in Taurus, which last happened during the Great Depression. Then more specifically, in the next couple months, six planets are going retrograde, with a couple lasting all summer.

What does that have to do with the Singularity? How do I know? We are just here checking things out. How can anyone know what something more intelligent than them is thinking?

So, retrogrades lead to breakdowns and breakthroughs.

Currently, more than any time I can remember in my life, more than 9/11, there is a feeling of things being, at the very least, different. 9/11 was shocking and paranoid, but not stay thirty feet away from people without masks paranoid. The Rodney King riots were an interesting walk across a normally car-only bridge near my college.

And while we are facing total lack of vision from dear leader, outside of the usual grab while the grabbing is good and smash the skull of anyone who speaks up, somehow, somehow, we are also taking bold ass steps into the future.

We are missing the boat creating a huge youth employment initiative this summer, even if it was all online, but the kids seem to have found other activities to keep busy, and we have seriously cut back on our driving.

We are failing to support small businesses in any long-term way, and entire industries are looking at multiple years of closure, but high-altitude carbon dioxide emissions from jets are down.

Kids across America had to settle for a graduation address from the old president, but we all got to see it online.

We may have to learn the idea of systemic racism by watching a man die under a knee and then having dear leader stoke a riot, but we are learning!

We may be getting fat at home, but we have the internet, lots of us have been steadily working, and even having some fun with family.

We may be desperately lonely, and again, at least we have the internet.

And if we don't?

Welcome to #SingularityNow. Enjoy your stay. Remember, here, your phone is your best friend.

Hmm yeah, I got another notice on my phone about curfew tonight, and dear leader just said he's going to use US troops, the Army, which is meant to defend us, instead to police us, we the people, inside our border, which as far as I can remember has been a no-no, due to that making us a military dictatorship or something.

So basically this is going pretty badly, prediction-wise. We're on the strongman and red hats attempt to suppress libtards and minorities path. And strongman has just called in the big guns.

The question is, will our GIs fight against civilians, in our own country? Some police seem to do it quite readily. But not all.

At this point, I'm more than a little nervous. The big guns make a lot of smoke. And can get much, much worse.

People, yes we have grievances, and yes this is an opportunity to air them and achieve real results, let's just be safe, ok? And creative? I don't one hundred percent know what that looks like, but I'm hoping I will see lots of building up, and maybe not so much tearing down.

"This is an invasion. There are tanks in our neighborhood."

Peaceful protestors tear gassed so dear leader can show he's tough enough to cross the street to go to a church. The pastor is pissed.

This whole walk across the street to a church stunt is really reminding me of the headlines around the days when the USSR was falling apart, and tanks had surrounded the Kremlin and Boris Yeltsin somehow emerged as the next leader of the world's newest free country, except we all know how that went.

In other words, this drumming seems to be effective, although we have no idea what's next.
