112 wear a mask and wash your hands

My "tips for what to do if you or someone you live with has coronavirus" keeps getting deleted by my phone.

The singularity has decided I am not an expert.

Here's what the Red Cross has to say. It's based on the CDC recommendations, and mostly makes sense. I'd emphasize that if you're in daily contact with a sick person, you don't know if you have it, too. So act like you do. Self-quarantine and get tested. Everyone wear a mask, and open some windows. Get an oxygen meter and a thermometer and use them. One other point I've heard disagreement on is trying to reduce the fever, I've heard it's better to let the fever do it's work if it's under 102. Another is the wearing of gloves, especially while washing dishes? Surface transmission is turning out to not be the biggest threat. If there's soap and water involved, the gloves might be a bit much.

But again, I am not a doctor, don't listen to me! Get real advice!

Here's one that's not on the CDC list: don't throw a party. Don't go to a party. Don't have people over. (Outside of work and prison, this is apparently the big spreader.)

Some quackier to-do items include: getting plenty of vitamin C (citrus) and D (sunshine), anti-oxidants like NAC, and oil of Oregano.

Oh, and if you go to the hospital, bring your phone and charger.

It turns out, lots of bar and restaurant owners have been asking to set up in the street outside their business.

Remember back on March 16th, the day bars were closed one day before their biggest sales day of the year? Do you remember a "process" being followed, or public debate?

Well, fortunately or unfortunately, it looks like even if the city drags the permitting process out for months, or even years, the virus will still be with us.

Everyone keeps saying, "but less people are dying." I sure hope so.

So, 40 school officials get together for one meeting, and now they're all in quarantine? To me, this headline reads: "Your kids are not going back to school in the fall."

And finally, a look at mask use around the world.

Korea had its first confirmed case the same day as the US. Here's what they were doing at the end of February:

And now (note, this is outdoors):

Here's the Vatican, in Italy, back in February:

And another spot in Italy today:

But not everyone is taking it seriously. Here's a picture from the land of Brexit:

And Russia? Well, I'd be impressed if I saw this in America:
That's all I've got for today. Be safe!
