116 the fog of war-ped thinking

Good morning. Where to start?

How about with Neowise? Went out at 4am to see it today.

Unfortunately, I didn't. Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter were all really visible, but I couldn't see the comet. And it's so newly discovered, it's not in my star app yet.

That's a pretty big one! It's going to be closest to Earth on July 23rd, so hopefully I'll get a look.

Did spot some fun new colorful lights in town.

This installation is much more impressive than the photo.

And the new lighted pride triangle is quite striking.

A couple days ago, when I said I didn't take any selfies, it was kinda a lie. I did shoot this video of fixing a bathroom sink. I'm not really sure why. Basically, it's pretty easy to make videos on your phone, and I thought it might be funny/useful. You can be the judge.

And since we're on the how-to tip, here's a fence I patched up yesterday for one of Deb's clients.

And now for the headlines. Have you heard of Covid-19?

Here's a very tragic way to become an internet celebrity.

Step one: make a public declaration of something stupid.

Step two, continue to brag about doing the things you're being asked not to do.

Like go to bars.

Then, unfortunately, we all know what comes next.

A few days of regret, and shortness of breath.

And one final post, gotta hand it to him, he had a sense of humor.

He really didn't want to follow the program.

Like going to the hospital.

Adios, Rick. You seemed like a funny, nice, willful idiot.

"Rate of Transmission" is a phrase we've heard a lot in this pandemic. Written as "Rt" it tells you how many other people one sick person will get sick.

Left unchecked, we're in for a hell of a winter.

Or, we could wear masks and stuff.

Dear leader continued to do the kind of stuff you expect from a bankrupt casino owner who once was bailed out by his father illegally buying three million dollars in chips.

Meanwhile, Julian Assange is in a UK prison. And if you don't get that non-joke, where do I start?

Finally, there was pretty spectacular fog yesterday morning.

On all sides.
