158 funny is what we need these days

Yesterday I attended a memorial service in the smokey Oakland hills, for the mother of a friend. It was nothing to do with Covid, other than the fact that the service wasn't three months ago in New Jersey.

This plot was interesting to me because my middle name is "Van Hamm," a family name. A few years ago we all learned that our ancestor changed their name at Ellis Island, it had been straight "Hamm," but they added the "Van" because it sounded money.

There used to be a "Hamm's" brewery here in SF, so I know it's a thing, but still, I can't help wondering if my forefather might have added that second M to get our family out of the mud as well.

Yeah, those hills. The red ones.

Still cleaning up screencraps from the DNC. It's "Comma-la."

If you were wondering how the show was put together, it was in this guy's living room. I guess that machine in front of him is a high end piece of dedicated gear, anyone know what it's called?

Julia-Louis Dreyfus was funny! Thank you! (Somebody had to be.)

Yes, funny is what we need these days.
