218 spread love like it's airborne and you think masks are silly

So, about our new yellow status. One new infection per 100,000 people per day, or less than that. Is this an effect of the beautiful weather we've been having?

It's 2020 am I: A) getting ready for a stick up, B) on my way to vote, C) heading to the farmers market, D) all of the above?

Apparently the city does know how to close a street and erect an open-sided tent. This could be good knowledge to use if we want to save any shred of our nightlife scene come December and January.

That big tent is for people who want to vote early, but when I was there all the action was curbside, with voters dropping off our mail-in ballots.

Also, not at all sure why closing down the street next to the park required closing the park?

Or for that matter, why this busy pedestrian route was blocked for this camp, when it's not actually being used for tents? It's almost like the people planning these street closures don't walk anywhere.

Hmmm.. maybe I'm on to something there.

Meanwhile, the farmer's market was busy. There's getting to be a bit more pedestrian traffic downtown. Mostly masked, which was nice to see.

In general, I'm getting the feeling that people are feeling pretty good about the masks as our infection rate goes down. Not 100% shnozz-free, but pretty ubiqitous.

Speaking of shnozzes, or similar, since these things come in threes, I'm wondering whose peepee is going to be in the news next.

Mic check. Check one, check two. Check. Check. All good!

Have you played? I'm tempted.

I guess Reddit AMAs are old news.

Now it's all about Twitch, bitches.

(For those following along at home, Twitch is a self-streaming platform founded by one of the Twitter founders. I'm on there as BWPaints, I think.)

Wherein dear leader makes a big deal about bringing jobs back to America, Wisconsin taxpayers fork out $4.5B, and Foxconn (Chinese tech manufacturer) breaks ground on a big mud pie factory.

This bit of news has been big news the past couple days. We all hope it's accurate.

That is one of the possible takeaways. This study was in New York, however.

Where they were slammed by this disease in March, and mounted an effective public health response, so they didn't have nearly as much to deal with in August.

So, less patients, more practice, and...

A smaller infectious dose of virus. Still, a 1 in 13 chance of dying versus a 1 in 4, that's what flattening the curve was all about. Thank you, science.

Meanwhile, the whole thing is shaped like an inverted Masonic symbol.

Despite all of the "for sale" and "for rent" signs I'm seeing around town, and there are a lot, I haven't heard much about a residential real estate slump. Commerical real estate, on the other hand...
It sure is interesting how the big guys get away with stuff mom and pop can't.

The king, whose family ran stores in the city for decades, agrees with this. He says plant stores are the new hot sector.

Gardeners throughout the city are pretty aware of our recent past as a sand dune.

Be safe, spread love like it's airborne and you think masks are silly.
