258 the Y in DIY
Working on this year's collection of poetry. Above, thinking about the cover. Below, a poem.

And here we are
And hope we will
Of days forgotten
And longed for still
Oh woe be gone
Woe be gone
The panic of 100 years
Not crying yet
Saving tears
A gruesome bet
Against the odds
Not ready
To meet the gods
Doing a small part
Sitting on my ass
Making art
Waiting for this to pass
RIP Thuy Nguyen. Skateboarding is not a crime.
Since I'm thinking the next Miley McMeteor will be a puzzle thing, and since screens rule, I'm wondering what the best avenue for delivering the content should be. Ebook on Amazon? Free website? Or, an interactive app experience where you can work on the puzzles on the page?
So I did a little looking into the DIY app world. What I discovered pretty much made me want to close the door again for a while. If you are an SMB and you want an app to, say, allow your tenants to pay rent online, it's maybe doable. All of the services charge monthly, so if you develop an app through them, you better have a solid path to making money, or you're going to be losing it, to the tune of about fifty bucks a month, which is a lot for a vanity project.
And then there is the issue that none of them are modeled on a content delivery app, they're all functional apps.
Normally I'd call this an opportunity, but looking at being the Y in in DIY has me panicked.
I guess ebook it is.
Happy to see this topic trending.
All over the place, all at once, pedestrians and cyclists pounced from the shadows to reclaim pavement.
It all started in "hell."
File under: barcoded Amazon slaves
More from the Vendee Globe.
The sailor in third place straight up sank. Fourth place picked them up in a life raft. Sailing solo around the world ain't no joke.
That third story walkway. Somebody lazy had clout, for sure.
The painted ladies. If you've hung out long enough in the city, you recognize as far as blocks of victorians go, this is actually kinda dull. But it's got the Transamerica building in the background, and a good park for posing, and plenty of parking for tour buses.
Life lesson? The famous one isn't necessarily the best one.
