270 streaming around the Xmas tree
It felt like a party. It was definitely nice to see everyone.
My experience with the Death of Natalie Wood reading a couple weeks ago should have taught me, but the party definitely did... If you are the "host" of a digital party, it's easier to get someone else to actually do the "hosting" (the technical stuff, and virtual door person) and save your efforts for mc'ing.
Apologies for any tech-frustrated f-bombs that may have been dropped.
But the jitters and awkward start were expected, and soon we moved on to the talent show.
That's when we were finally able to relax and have some fun. Zoom is tough because really only one person can talk at a time, versus a real party where everyone gets to talk to each other, but at moments I forgot that we were still alone in our living room.
And while the cleanup isn't quite as bad as when people come over...
The hangover is about the same. Thanks everyone! Happy holidays!
