273 let there be (too much) light
Had an eye exam yesterday, getting ready to replace a pair of glasses I lost in October.
They put in drops to dilate my eyes. Riding my bike home without sunglasses would have been impossible.
My vision was messed up for the rest of the day, it was hard to focus. Literally.
Wherein a UCSF doctor questions the need to shut down parklet dining.
Her basic argument: we have contact tracing. We know how people are catching the disease. So, either show us the data, or this is theater.
Seems fair enough to me. I'm all for doing the best thing, but seriously, where's the data? I mean, shit, even one anecdotal story would be better than nothing.
FYI, our lockdown has been eased. You are now allowed to see one person from outside your household. Outdoors.
Meanwhile, yesterday at SF General Hospital... Seriously, why are hospitals the most crowded place I've been to this whole pandemic? You'd think that if SF General can basically operate as normal, but with masks, so could the rest of the world.
