How about we start with the positive?
This is on to something. One thing this pandemic has shown us is that actually, we're quite capable of making sudden, very large societal changes in the face of an emergency. Especially if the effort is backed by the government.
And don't tell me bikes won't work in the rain and snow. That's why I've been posting all these full-canopy rides.
But a raincoat works, too.

Ten times the population of SF. 35 times as many infections, 50 times more deaths. Fuck.
We have as many infections in the past month as in the entire year up to now.

We went out to Fort Funston yesterday. The car is still there from when the woman drove off the cliff. It was definitely intentional. (Not my picture.)
What was remarkable to me was how well the car protected her. You can see she hit the beach nose first, then flipped over, but the driver's seat looked well protected. The doors even worked. (They were open by the time we saw it.)
This was also intentional. He did kill himself. He also warned people in the area, which makes me think AT&T was the intended collateral target. I guess he wasn't down with the Singularity.
