So that was a coup attempt. The MSM isn't calling it that, because I don't know, they want us to feel like we have a shred of dignity left, or they don't want us to panic. Congress people are calling it an insurrection. But everywhere else? Coup.


(Ok, CNN has upgraded to "procedural coup," at least the bit with begging Mike Penis and Shmed Cruz to do something.)


Let's see. Leader of country loses election, claims it was not valid, rallies his supporters to march on another branch of government as they are finalizing the election results. But maintains the thinnest veneer of deniability ("I never asked them to go inside." "I never said to change the vote.")


Meanwhile, the rats are jumping ship. (What a great nautical expression... Could you imagine being on a sinking boat, and watching rats swim for their lives? You know you're fucked.) 

First the domestic help quit (which seemed to force Dear Leader into stating he would leave) and then cabinet members started bailing. (Another nautical term, in this case, twisted around. They're not actually bailing, that's an attempt to refloat things. They're jumping ship. Like the rats.)


Elaine Chao, Senator Turtle's wife, and then Betsy DeVos, blackwater mercenary's sister, quit. DeVos even put in a dagger, saying dear leader has gone too far. (Four years of appeasement versus two weeks of quitting? You're just trying to save face.)

So, with no cabinet, how is that 25th amendment going to work?

And then congress took off on vacation until the inauguration. So, how is that impeachment going to work?

Meanwhile, Facebook and Twitter seem to understand it was a coup attempt, and also to understand this little bit of history explained by my cousin yesterday: if there are no consequences, they will try again.

Cleaning up around an archeological site that gets a lot of schools visiting, scientists were surprised by the amount of plastic they recovered.

Apparently this guy hasn't got the memo that plastic recycling is a bunch of baloney sold to us by the fossil fuel and plastics industries.

Guys, there are currently half a million active Covid-19 cases in LA.  That's 1 in 20 people. Sick. Right now. 5% of the population. The same amount who have gotten sick during the entire year up to now. That's "don't bring them to the hospital" levels of sick.

Where to start? With a drip. Due to a recent large bill for two pieces of plastic pipe and a valve, I have become interested in learning more about pex plumbing. At top, a bicycle built for golf. Mid-drive, even. Kinda spendy at $7k, but this is golf. Apparently they're selling.  We're talking about Bikes and Batteries today. This is a, um, what was this?  Right, a swappable battery.  Sounds a lot like a dorado battery with a new design. Having uniform parts between different manufacturers will help us consumers. (Imagine if your car only worked with one brand of gasoline.) So this thinking is in the right direction-ish. Throw a golf bag holder on the front and they could charge more. ;) There's gold in them thar batteries. (Or at least some rare earth minerals.) The question is, how do we get them out, and then back in?  At least we can haul them about in this.  It's funny how some designs look bad while others look good. 469 who spiked the corona?

Omicron is here. In less than a month, it has gone from zero cases in the US, to 73% of cases as of this past weekend. At top is San Francisco, below is New York State. The good news is, if you're vaccinated, you might not get too sick. The bad news is, there's a pretty good chance we're all going to get sick in this one. Here's NYC, where you can see omicron is making the curve from March 2020 look small. Or else, lockdown. I'm not a doctor, or an expert. Here's what I've picked up about omicron: 1. It is more transmissible . At least twice as easily spread as the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2. They say it's on the level of measles, the most easily spread virus we know. 2.
