File under: welcome to maskworld

We had people over in the backyard last night. One of them works in a nursing facility. She's already had Covid, and is it about to get her second vaccine jab. She's still wearing masks.

Why? Well here's an awesome story. Her facility has the same seasonal flu as everywhere else, usually sweeping through over January and February. This year? Nothing.

So, it turns out, all this germ control is working. And we all agreed that come next January and February, we'll probably be masking up at any big indoor events we attend.

Welcome to the new normal.

Have you been following India and Brazil? They're both way behind on testing, and so all the official numbers coming out are bogus. But the hospitalization numbers are telling a crazy story.

In Brazil, a whole bunch of people got sick in the spring/summer (which is, I think, their fall/winter), and they were hoping for herd immunity, but now are getting slammed by a new variant.

In India, they had a harsh lockdown, but the disease still blew up, culminating in overwhelmed hospitals in the fall. And then...

Quiet. Not a lot of people are winding up in the hospital there. So, for the time being, it would seem they have hit herd immunity.

So, basically, randomness.

People are still throwing money at CCIV. Up 250% in two weeks. This is new bubble territory.

Also, the new message on Covid is, pay more attention to airflow, and less attention to cleaning surfaces.

Finally, back to Mars.
