And then I see...
Our indoor pools, while legally allowed to open now, are looking at April or May, or maybe June.
And then I see...
My favorite, the the Mission Nickel Pool, the city's only outdoor pool available to me, has been open since January? How did I not know this?
You have to make a reservation in advance. Checking online, there are plenty available. Looks like I'll be swimming soon.
Looks interesting.
Alright. It's not competition, it's company.
Does a CIS writer of musicals count? Probably not.
Oh. Definitely not me. Well, at least we know we live in a nice neighborhood.
Our tourism revenue went from $10b in 2019, to $2b last year.
Well, who wants to donate to a musical production?
Maybe I'll have the script ready by then.
Since we're on a roll with the highlighter.
Yesterday I prepared the garden we're working in to receive a patch of grass. The area where the grass is going is partly shady. With tons of care, it might do ok, but in general grass doesn't do super well in the city. Naturally, it grows green here in the winter, then turns brown (sorry, golden) in the summer. Irrigated, it gets muddy in the winter, weedy in the spring, and patchy in the summer.
And that's 135 square feet of grass in a backyard. This is not the kind of grass to which the author refers.
See, there's a lot we don't think about in this lifetime. Like how much time and effort and resources we expend chasing after other people's agendas.
Speaking of pools, Back in the day of Jim Crow, in some places it was popular to fill in the town's public pool rather than desegregate.
The result? Rich people had pools, the rest of us had nothing.
And this just keeps happening and happening. "Privatize" is possibly the dirtiest word of the '90s.
And one more, without as many words.
And finally finally wing boarding on Crissy Field.
This is usually done in the water. These inflatable wings are new, under five years old. Someone basically made a shorty kite, then got rid of all the rigging. Someone is currently preparing to become the first wing boarder across the Atlantic.
At top, an AMC Pacer. Because honestly, I didn't think I'd ever see another one on the street.
