380 follow the sun

We have one south-facing window in our apartment. Boone can usually be found following the patch of sun it provides once per day, but yesterday I found both cats enjoying a little Vitamin D.

Yesterday was also April Fool's. I didn't notice too many shenanigans. Either I'm out of touch, or we've all had enough gaslighting to last a while.

Fremont, which also apparently is the happiest town in California, isn't reopening the schools this year. To be honest, I'm surprised SF is, in a couple weeks, at least some of them. For what? Six weeks? Seems like it's more about going through the motions than actual learning.

Guys, he's a millennial. It's called "Molly."

Mainly screencrapped this so I remember to watch. Over the years, I've attempted to bring some of SF's Asian American culture into the Barbary Coast show, but have yet to succeed. This show about the Tong Wars, concepted by Bay Area native Bruce Lee, might provide some insight.

At the minimum, I'm sure it will have good time-period references.

This is kind of a big deal. My brother has really pointed this out to me over the years: a big reason our housing situation is so fucked is that it's not the free market at all, it's a bunch of crazy rules designed to preserve wealth, and in many ways, perpetuate racism.

I'm not saying the "free market" is better, I'm saying that the "free market" is bullshit. So what is better?

Duh, urban infill. And suburban density. And open space.

Found this little cave-ish spot in Glen Canyon yesterday morning. It has the feeling of people hanging out here for a long time.
