382 mountain time

Getting a jump on our second vax appointment, we opted to visit Rockin's cabin, which is about an hour and a half closer to our jab location.

Other stuff. Here's Dr. Sarah Cody on the varients:

And here's Dr. Monica Ghandi (I think I have that wrong-ish) of UCSF on the SF requirement that fans at Giants games are either vaxxed or get a test.

Her basic argument is that it's overkill. If you're outdoors, masking and distanced, then even if someone is asymptomatic and spreading, you should be safe. If you're going to require the testing and etc, we might as well all sit together unmasked.

Ok, confessional. On Friday I got Covid test. It was my first one. Next week I'm going to the dentist, at UCSF, and they required it in order to drill baby drill. They gave me a sheet of Covid instructions. It read a bit like last year (there was a lot of surface wiping advice), but you know what wasn't on there? A recommendation to wear a mask outside.

Oh, they recommended them inside, and in vehicles, but zero mention of wearing one to the park.

It's almost like wearing a mask outside is hygiene theater, huh?

BTW, as of Friday, I didn't have Covid.

Ex-Dear Leader is drawing some flack for his scammish use of pre-filled check boxes to rope idiots into automatically recurring donations, maxing their credit cards, emptying bank accounts, and going over the $2800 federal limit. This resulted in a 10% request for refund rate, versus the Dems 2%.

Sounds about right.

What's wrong with me? The past couple days I've gone down a John Bulger boat design hole.

These are homemade, cheap plywood boats, made by nerds for nerdsake.

And they're singing my song.

Maybe I need to go to one of these obscure wooden boat gatherings and see if I can check one out. They mostly seen to be on the East Coast, and most of the weblinks are twenty years old.

So who knows if any of these boats even still exist.

His basic philosophy tends toward flat bottoms, square sides, and blunt noses. They call them "square boats."

Considering we saw a bit about this on the evening news from the Sierras, I probably don't need to hype.

Daytime robberies of bicycles. Tell me again how great the unemployment numbers are?
