Cleaning off the phone.
Worry is wasted energy. The #Singularity is now. Say hello to our new minders.
It turns out cops have been using these for a couple years. But one was caught on video doing back up on a domestic disturbance. But don't worry, they're not armed or anything.
Well, except by these artists. Lots of times, art opens us up to possibilities. But how much imagination does it take to picture a society where the poor are policed by the rich's robots?
Hmmm...Robocop? Terminator? Never heard of them.
Here's the future of ferries. Or something like that. Its like a floating plane, but it only flies a few feet above the water. And can do Boston to NYC in, well, longer than you'd hope, because of Cape Cod. But it does something like 180mph.
Another of the grand experiments to turn all downtowns into parking lots and cloverleaves is going bye-bye.I didn't realize this highway to nowhere was completed only ten years before I moved here. It really is a waste, and basically served to disconnect and impoverish the neighborhood of West Oakland.
We're all getting a little perspective on the past couple years.
Turns out, we enjoyed a lot of it.
And we realized we can do a lot more on video chat.
We're still working on this one.
Color me confused. 70+% of adults in the city are vaccinated. Outside, I still see most people wearing masks. But then, I walk by a restaurant. It's open, and crowded inside, with no one wearing a mask. What are the rules again?
And then there's this point of view, which, you know, is fine. It just kinda confirms that I'm more conservative than I'd like to be.
What have you seen? Most of the kids I know seem excited to go back. But it also seems like the schools are only open sporadically. I'm not sure how well kids perform academically sporadically.
A friend did the branding, but I stuck around for the conversation. "This is the revolution" check it out.
Some old rich dude (ok, I'm making an assumption) is out to prove how green he can be with this yacht's around the world trip. Look, it's powered by solar and wind! (Uh, interestingly, people have been circumnavigating with nothing but solar and wind power for a few hundred years, at least... And you can do it on an older used boat for a lot cheaper.)
I forget what this guy was doing, I took the screencrap because it reminded me of this:
Ok, speed round over, for now. Peace out.
