449 another walk to the farmer's market

Yeah, that's me, not wearing a mask. I'm the minority. In a city with 70% of adults vaccinated, where the outdoor mask requirement was lifted several weeks ago, why is almost everyone still wearing a mask outside?

It's not science anymore.

Based on my own feelings walking downtown, it's peer pressure. It is not easy to not do what everyone else is doing.

Even I wore mine while at the farmer's market. Which is outside.

By my casual estimate, there are more pedestrian commuters. Not a lot, but more.

Even CAL OSHA is walking back the mask requirements. It's pretty nuts, the contrast between Florida and San Francisco.

In Florida, I was in a crowd of two thousand at a high school graduation, with barely a mask in sight. Here, I pass someone on the sidewalk thirty feet away, and they're masked.

And there is less disease here, and more vaccinated people.

Of course, our cautious attitude is precisely why there is less disease, so there is that little ray of light in this obsession.

Yesterday I overheard another adventurous soul taking to a friend on the sidewalk. "My mouth feels cold," he said.

Welcome home.

Ever wonder what these white bikes mean? Unfortunately, it means a cyclist was killed by a car here.

It was very nice to see the windows at Zuni uncovered. It will be interesting to see how long they keep their new no-tipping model, now that they're back to full service.

Everytime I find some blank plywood to post art on, the muralists are hot on my tail. This same artist decorated the corpse formerly known as Lucky 13, but I forgot to take a picture.

Oh, Vice President Harris. We know you're  neoliberal, but so soon?
