454 dog food and the space between knowing

Mercury is retrograde. It went retrograde about May 28. I sent off a draft of the musical to our director on May 26th, then we went to Florida. When I got back a week later, I started watching YouTube videos about renovating manufactured homes. I haven't stopped.

(Dog food in progress... We've been making their food for a few years now.)

As sometimes happens when I go through my normal daily routine but am completely useless, after a few days I started to feel off. Like, what am I doing?

The answer comes slowly. A few days ago, I got a note from Keith, our director, saying he "REALLY" likes the updates. That feels good, to know the work I've put in over the past months is on target. But what am I doing now?

I'm watching YouTube videos. Is this really the best use of these incredible days of early summer?

My slack time passes, and it begins to dawn on me: I am resting. I am getting ready. I am having some down time. I haven't lost it completely, and turned into a blob of malfeasance; I am between projects.

And my next one is going on YouTube. That's why I'm watching all these videos. It's called learning.

During a Mercury retrograde. It's ok. I've got nothing to say.

File under: it's not a passport

It's, um, just your vaccine card on your phone. And businesses may or may not allow you to enter unmasked based on it.

But it's not a passport. It's a "system."

File under: too soon to tell?

When California was busy locking down last year, I read up about public health responses. And the basic gist is, the more a society gets out in front of a pandemic, or epidemic, the more likely it is to recover quickly.

I don't know all the forces at play, and certainly Southern California still got hammered by Covid-19, but...

And...

And...

And...

And...

Y'all still want to recall Gavin?

Enjoy the day. I think we're at T minus 5 or 6 before these blog posts become vlog posts. But I'll still be posting the links here, at the very minimum.
