482 the answer is love

Don't give up, Blake. You know how you guarantee failure? Quitting. The only way to get where you're going is one step at a time.

Guys, I'm feeling a little discouraged. It's not your fault. You reading this helps keep me going.

Why do I keep going?

Seeking glowing praise and approval from others is a dead end. All the audience in the world cannot make you happy. The reward is in the doing.

At this point, I guess I'm still spinning my stories because I want to tell the truth. My truth. To get that one big squawk out that says, "this is how the world is, now it all makes sense and we can be happy."

Sorry if that all sounds a little obtuse. Learning to communicate clearly is one of my big challenges in this lifetime.

Perhaps another is learning to simply let life be, without trying to label everything, make sense of it, and have the most clever take on it.

Less is More. That was my theme last year, I'm still figuring it out.

One thing I've learned is that this space, this time, is a good time for me to tell verbal stories.

What story should I tell next? Or not next, but now?

That's been the question on my mind for at least a few months.

Any requests?

In the meantime, cleaning screencraps off the phone.

The new idea is a hybrid model, where employees report to the office for meetings, not just to keep their chair warm.

So now we go to the office for just the really unproductive parts?

Honestly, I don't have a clue. I miss people, too.

So, if the machines are in charge, and they're picking our mates for us, how will that effect our own evolution?

One of the tidbits I picked up this week, from this article, I think, but maybe another, is that the human brain is expected to continue to shrink as we evolve.

Yes, continue. Apparently our brains have already gotten smaller since we stopped being hunter gatherers. Our current lives demand less brain power than our ancestors needed.

Think about that. But not too hard, you might get an owee.

BA.2 is now 8% of US cases, and 30% more virulent than the original omicron. What does that mean?

Time to take those masks off!

Why do the little kids have to wear their masks another two weeks?

Boogers?

Nah, they're probably testing things out with the older kids, to see if anything goes haywire.

Speaking of, here's probably the only story worth sharing here. The other day I was working on the sidewalk. Two school girls walked by, gossiping about a boy one had a crush on. She said, "He was the one with the blue mask on."

Guys, we're tiptoeing through some weird days.

It's not easy when a big chunk of us stop believing the propaganda. There's really just this big vacuum of credibility, and there are plenty of nefarious players willing to step into the void and say, "I have the answer."

Just FYI, I don't have the answer.

Unless the answer is love, and enjoying the life you have today.
