529 The Flood, Ch. 41
Chapter Forty-one
"Sorry dude," I said as I smashed the heavy switch down on my head again.
Everything went black. I watched myself slump into the water.

"Welcome back."
My vision cleared, blinking into focus in the bright lights of a GD conference room. I was seated at the head of the table as usual, and every eye was on me.

"Dude, you have to get us out of here," said one of me.
"Yeah we've been waiting like forever."
"Like, what the fuck, man? You told us you could deliver this."
"We want an end to this."
"Yeah." Lots of agreement on that one. "Yeah, Dale." "Come on, Dale."
"Hey guys, I'm working on this," I said. "Look, none of you got out of here either, right? How about you tell me some things that might be useful instead of complaining?"
"That's why we smashed you with the fucking switch, dude. You're on the wrong track."
"Again." There was some snickering at that.
"What's so funny?" I asked, a bit pissed at myself. Am I really this big of a dickhead?
"You got to sail out to the fucking swimming pool." I'm not sure who said that, but I know it was me.
"And then what?" I ask, hopeful.
"How do we know? You're the one with the sailboat."
I look around at my face, snarling back at me, "What kind of pirates are you with no boat?"
Laughter. "We have your boat."
