576 bike n battery, short and sweet

So there's a lot happening in the world, financial craziness and WWIII and America losing our omnipotence and climate change, but that's been happening for a while and honestly, what can I do, so instead today we're going to focus on electric bicycles again. Welcome to another fabulous edition of Bike N' Battery.

At top, Amish folks gave the automobile a pass, but ebikes are a-ok. Wise mfers.

We've talked a bit about recycling and refurbishing batteries, but Upway is going after the whole bike. Right on. A great service in our disposable times.

For right now it's a dozen hipsters in Brooklyn, but, um, I'm sure a dozen hipsters in Oakland is not far behind.

This is a cheapo moped style ebike. The reviews basically say, if you want a moped style ebike and don't want to spend more than $2k, plus you don't mind a zip-tie aesthetic, get an Engwe. Otherwise, there's a place in Brooklyn you might want to check out...

Honestly I can't remember why I took this screenshot.

Maybe it had something to do with this. We're starting to see attempts at universal batteries, cells that can move from power tools to bikes. Kinda rad.

It's a emoto, and custom built so probably not terribly affordable, but it is kinda sweet looking. The Retrorides RTR 799e from Brazil. (With Chinese parts, of course.)

Nothing spectacular about the specs, but maybe that's the point. We're starting to get into the realm of me too, which is also the realm of do-able.

Now back when I rode a motorcycle most of it was for me, but boy, if you could convince someone to get on the back, that was magic. Not so much here.

Short and sweet. Keep the rubber side down friends!
