621 size comparison and more intriguing visuals

Welcome to another intriguing edition of Wake Blake.

Why intriguing? Because I'm intrigued to see where these screencraps are going to take us.

At top, in the past 20 years, TVs, toys and cell service got cheap, housing, education and healthcare got expensive.

Meanwhile, pensions have more going out than coming in.

As does the Midwest.

It seems like AI is in every headline that's not featuring Dear Leader. Here we contemplate that the future we're investing in is also the future we don't want to live in.

Meanwhile, in China.

Oh, those made up facts. Silly statistics.

Zero traffic, stars, small town feel and lakes? Sign me up.

Funny how people don't associate zero traffic with zero cars, they think it has to do with zero Californians.

And stars? Don't get me started on LED lights in your yard.

We live in a red area, but our town sure loves the service and price we get from owning our own town utilities.

AI as a public utility? Intriguing.

Weaponization. It's funny how projection works. What you do is, you accuse everyone else of doing what you're doing.

But, but, the windmills are killing the birds!

People, oil is too precious for making plastic to burn it to haul your butt to the casino.

Enshittification. As I once wrote in a poem, "I'm saving the world. You can see it in the background of my selfies."

Enshittification seems to be the order of the day.

We're being played. The culture wars are a distraction from the wealth hoarding.

Ok, let's take a deep dive for a moment. Lots of Americans love to visit Europe. The cities, the culture, the convenience. But we could never do that here.

Or could we?

What would it take?

About 5 trillion dollars. An outrageous sum of money?!?

That we already spend on highways.

Car addiction is real.

"But, but, I need it to..."

Social media addiction is real, too.

Your two feet are also very patriotic. Most of the soldiers in the Revolution were quite adept at using them.

Nobody stays on top forever.

Bad news for my fellow skiiers of the Northwest.

Well shoot, I was wrong about Dear Leader being a peacenik.

America first.

We don't have the money. Uh huh.

Somehow the colors on neither of these maps quite tell the story.

What if the places with less AC were colored blue and more AC was red? You know, cool places blue, hot places red?

Nah, that makes too much sense.

Finally, one suggested by my brother. The relative wealth of millionaires, billionaires and one trillionaire, as compared to height.

(We used these size comparisons because other size comparisons would get awkward. Like, how do you illustrate that level of compensation except with a picture of Bezos and his girlfriend?)
