Wait, what kind of bike blog is this?

One that enjoys thinking outside the box, and appreciates engineering creativity. Here's a Toyota truck concept. It's based on the HiLux platform, which is also the Tacoma platform and the Tundra platform. How are they going to turn a $50k truck into a $10k truck?

The answer: leave out all the gizmos and gadgets. And give it a flat bed.

Back to bikes. Think this bike train will be under $10k?

I do.

It probably also won't feature automatic lane detection.

Here's a nice looking bit of micromobility. The Envo Veemo. We live kinda close if Envo would like to invite me to do a review.

614 martial law might not look like what you think

When martial law arrives, it might not look like what we think. Sometimes I like to remove the labels to see what might be really going on.  Our language has a strong control over our thoughts. How we see the world around us is "framed" by the language we use to describe it.  Language is coded with all of the good and bad of human culture: Euro-centrism and scarcity, equality and abundance. Which words we pick change our impression of the world we are witnessing.  "A missionary spreading the good news to unsaved souls" sounds a lot different than "a foreign cult leader poisoning innocent minds." But they're both describing the same thing. When we remove the labels, we might not see the truth, but maybe we get a bit closer. Or attempt to.  "An outsider attempting to convince a group that they're wrong and their right" is another way of describing the missionary's situation, but it removes the labels of religion and national...

620 How do we get our thoughts back?

Forgive me, it's been a while. Not that there's nothing to say, just that I've been saying it other places.  The long nights of winter are perfect for setting one's mind to a novel. Sadly, the slow churning up there, or rather, the distracted tumbling, has watched winter turn to spring and said novel is maybe a third of the way. Maybe.  This is the battle in the attention economy. How do we get our thoughts back?  There have been several changes over here at Wake Blake galactic headquarters.  First, our entire information technology infrastructure was rebuilt (we got a new phone), leading to the usual (un)expected total loss of everything. So we have new graphics on the blog. Yes, they were created with an AI boost. Why? Because as bad as the AIpocalypse might be, it's fun to watch them hallucinate up new-ish stuff.
