599 smaller is, well, it can be argued that it's better
Hello friends. It's been a hot minute. But don't worry, there are plenty of screenshots for us to look at.
At top, reclaiming public space from the car. Lately, I've been reading a bunch about how we're never going to be able to transition from ICE cars to EV cars. There just aren't enough resources coming out of the ground, they say, we'll never scale them up in time.
That's cool. Seriously. Replacing an oversized death mobile with an electrically powered oversized death mobile kinda sounds like a dumb idea anyway, doesn't it?
Geez, what if instead of replacing cars with more cars, we actually took this moment to rethink transportation?
So there it is. What if instead of just banning ICE cars, we started allowing other types of vehicles on our roads?
Think smaller, cheaper, more fun, more convenient. It's all available. If we just allow it.
Heck, your new ride doesn't need four wheels, three or even two. What if it had one wheel?
With 4.4 Amp Hours, this battery will likely last about as long as you want to ride this unicycle, aka, not long.
Man, I'm working hard not to put any ebike pictures in here. This is WakeBlake, not Bike & Battery.
Here's one I took for the coming months. Last year we didn't buy any vegetables from June through September, but there was a lot of crook neck squash eating, and we ran out of salad greens. This year it would be nice to have some more variety in the garden.
Well, after that wholesome respite, how about we return to the world of AI? Here's the new fear: AI will eat itself.
AI trained on data created by other AIs, the thinking goes, is a clangbird. What is a clangbird?
"A clangbird is a bird that flies in ever decreasing concentric circles until it flies up its own asshole with a loud, resounding clang, sir."
This little Rabbit device was the big hit at CES this year. It's basically an AI interface for your phone, the type of tech which is going to be built into every smartphone in the next couple years. You talk to it and it does stuff.
That level of excitement right there is why I'm not an early adopter. Also, I'd rather sit out the early days of a new tech than fill up a drawer somewhere with shiny new dead devices.
This was from an interesting oped piece about Gaza. The basic gyst was, we're in a world war, part of it is a war of ideals. On the one side, you have people who want to go back in time, on the other, people who recognize we need to move forward. There are countries that lean one way or the other, and then factions within those countries who are either forward or backward.
It's really a simplified version of the world, but golly, it kind of works to make sense of this shitshow.
And to bring it full circle, F-350, meet your three wheel sibling.
Nah, just kidding, you know Ford's skateboard chassis is going to be the size of a small SUV.
See you next time.
